3 Reasons Your Business Needs a Digital Presence

3 Reasons your business needs a digital presence

Today’s world operates in two spheres – the physical world and the online, digital world. Just like you may (or may not) personally have an online persona, you need to decide if your business should be digitally present and how to manage that.

In this post, we’ll tell you three reasons we think your business should have a digital presence and why they’re important for your business to thrive.

What is Digital Presence?

Digital presence can be anything about you or your business that can be found online. This may include:

  • Your website
  • Social media
  • Paid advertising
  • Email marketing
  • Customer reviews

3 Reasons Your Business Needs a Digital Presence

#1: Your business should be in front of your customers, who are increasingly online!

A whopping 75% of consumers in a recent survey by McKinsey said they are taking a hybrid approach to shopping, researching and purchasing both online and in-store, while only 20% are solely researching and shopping in-store. Almost half of consumers surveyed said social media also influenced their purchasing decisions. Even if you are not offering your products or services online through an e-commerce store, consumers may still be interested in researching what you offer before coming to purchase from you in-person.

#2: You want to own your brand wherever customers can engage with it, including online.

Just like in the real world, you can curate your business’s digital presence, where you can showcase your products and services, promote deals, run ads, and generally show that you are an expert in your field.

Since your customers are likely researching you (and your competitors) online before deciding to buy, your online branding could make or break those potential sales. According to Forbes, a thriving business feeds on generating engagement.

#3 There are many opportunities to digitally engage with your customers and build relationships.

Your digital presence really shines when it comes to how you can engage with your customers. If you’re on social media, you can share your business’s news, answer questions, promote events, etc. And if your business isn’t ready for social media, there’s also email marketing to send messages directly to your customers and start a conversation.

Your customers want to engage with you. They want to hear from you, and they want to let you know what they like, what they don’t like and what they’d like to see you offer. The most efficient and cost-effective way for you to communicate with them and vice versa is digitally.

Are You Ready to Build Your Business’s Digital Presence?

Hopefully we’ve convinced you that having a strong digital presence is good for your business for visibility, branding and consumer engagement.
